Baisakhi, is known as the harvest festival of Punjab. It is celebrated by people across religions. Other than marking the season of harvest, Baisakhi also has religious significance for both the Sikhs & Hindus. Baisakhi marks the beginning of the Hindu Solar New Year.
Baisakhi was celebrated amongst Homertonians with joy and enthusiasm, not only our students but their siblings and parents also joined them in making the celebrations a special fun time for the family.
Students were dressed in Punjabi attire and performed traditional 'Bhangra' and 'Gidda' dance. The day started with a prayer and a video showing the significance of the Baisakhi festival.
