The Bible talks about God and Satan. Other religions explain the same idea through Good and Evil. In our daily life, occasionally we come across good and bad people.
Again it is said
“We are children of the same one God and who would I say is good and who is bad?”
Different people of differing intelligence have tried to answer this question in their own way. My understanding is that we live by the same Vital Force, the same energy that pervades all living and non living things. We are not any different in this respect.
However, this Energy is used by some human beings to lead a healthy life in the interest of society. These spread fragrance by their thought and action wherever they go. It is a pleasure to meet such people. These are Godly people.
There is another kind whose sole purpose is self interest, irrespective of how others get affected. These people bring a lot of pain and sorrow to others. Such people are Satanic.
In Homerton it is our stead fast endeavour to impart values to our children that they become Godly and develop an aura around them that makes them wise and innocent at the same time.
We can only succeed in this effort only if the parents and teachers complement each other.
This is to say that the parents should make a conscious effort that children learn to respect parents at home. Then teachers build on this solid foundation to see that the children grow into healthy citizens of future India.
I am convinced that if India is to turn over a new leaf only the parents and teachers can do the miracle and nobody else.
These days there is a lot of discussion how to make Faridabad a smart city. I think it is already too smart! The other day I was comparing Faridabad and London with my Vice Principal. We can say that both have metros, good malls, good roads, good private schools and good telecom, but London is a smart city whereas Faridabad is not! Why? The answers were various – lack of pure clean water, good government hospitals and schools, accountability in administration and an efficient justice system. We might find it surprising to know that in England 100% of the hospitals and 99% of the schools are run by the government. Medical and education is totally free. In administration there is total accountability. By these standards Faridabad is far from being a smart city.
But I am an optimist. Things will happen. So let’s start together. The parents and teachers will one day ring in a new era. Trust in the Geeta.
