May 8, 2018: On the occasion of state level World Red Cross Day Celebration, District Red Cross Branch Gurugram, in collaboration with Haryana state branch, welcomed Hon’ble Governor of Haryana Professor Kaptan Singh Solanki for the occasion as the Chief Guest. He is also the President of Indian Red Cross Society and St. John Ambulance Haryana.
Senior students of Homerton Grammar School Sector 21A, Faridabad were selected to welcome Hon’ble Governor on the day, at Kingdom of Dreams Gurugram. The students enthusiastically participated in welcoming the Governor with banners, placards and posters. The posters and banners were made by the students of the school giving information and appeal on social and humanitarian issues like save water, save girl child etc. The programme began with the arrival and reception of Chief Guest and Haryana state Red Cross members at the campus of Kingdom of Dreams. The programme was followed by flag hosting and cultural event by a team of performers from Kingdom Of Dreams.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Hon’ble Governor followed by distribution of awards. The students of Homerton Grammar were appreciated for their presence and kind gesture.
World Press Freedom Day was celebrated at Homerton Grammar School on 3rd May 2018. Journalists from different newspapers, news channels, and online portals participated whole-heartedly and explained the real freedom of media to our students. Talk show was organized on this year’s UNESCO theme –The role of the media in sustainable development, especially during elections – as a watchdog fostering transparency, accountability and the rule of law. The theme also aims to explore legislative gaps with regard to freedom of expression and information online, and the risks of regulating online speech.
The talk show was hosted inside the school campus at Trinity Hall. Eminent speakers from the media industry of Faridabad & Noida joined the platform to address our students. Our panelists included speakers from across the press industry, be it print media like Dainik Bhaskar, The Times of India, Aaj Samaj, Hindustan, Amar Ujala, or Pioneer. Speaker from television industry, WT Vision also spoke to our students. Online media which are gaining power made their presence, speakers from Voice of Faridabad, Today Bhaskar, Discovery News & Alive News were present to grace the occasion. To give the talk show a different perspective we had college professor from DAV to educate students about the role of media.
Students enthusiastically took part in the question & answer session and questioned the media personalities regarding their view point on different issues.
Our President, Mr. Kuldip Singh, Our Managing Director Mr. Rajtheep Singh & our Principal Mrs. Archana Dogra were also present amongst the panelists. They felicitated the speakers from the media fraternity.
Freedom of the press is one of those fundamentals rights that Indians consider part of their identity.
Yet another day filled with motivation, enthusiasm, and encouragement. A mission and a vision to make our city polythene free. students of class 4th to 12th participated to make it a success.
All students, teachers and staff members of our school celebrated World Mother Earth day on the theme “SAY NO TO PLASTIC’. The event started with over 1000 students and teachers taking a pledge to reduce the usage of polythene bags.
Hon’ble Sh. Shyam Sundar secretary of Red Cross Society Haryana, conducted the oath-taking ceremony. All students were handed over cloth bags made by the inmates of jail by our school management.
Hon’ble Ms. Ayesha Trehan Bhalla along with Mr Ankit Nayyar president – Prabhat an awakening NGO also addressed our students regarding the ill effects of Plastic pollution.
Sh. Ajay Garg of Aagan foundation also graced the occasion by enlightening our students to help stop plastic pollution. He also distributed specially made stickers for the parents to get informed about the hazardous effects of plastic pollution.
Hon’ble Sh. Chandra Dutt Sharma, chief sanitary inspector Municipal Corporation of Faridabad was also present to inform students about how to segregate garbage from our homes.
Students, teachers & management actively participated in this interactive session to make it a mission in the coming days.
If it is World Mother Earth Day, then how can we not include our little ones. several activities were conducted for kindergarten and junior sections in our school. It included paper bag making, coloring mother earth graphic, and plantation drive. They were introduced to the topic #earthday and got knowledge on they can contribute towards saving our planet.
A successful career counseling session was held at Homerton Grammar school today for aspiring students of class eleventh. Parents along with the wards enthusiastically participated to make the session a success.
Teachers gave guidance on the varied subjects prescribed at our school in senior secondary level.
Career Counseling session was organized to encourage students to explore career path possibilities, enhance self-discovery and make smarter choices. Parents, teachers and students of our school gained tremendously from this interactive session. There was a doubt clearing session at the end of the program wherein one to one discussion and confusions related to choosing of stream were taken up by the teachers.
Such sessions will also be planned in future to encourage students to pave the right path for them. At Homerton School it has been our mission to make education is a phenomenon from which everyone can gain equally and hence apply it further in making right career choices.
We are going to organize a ‘Career Counselling’ session to encourage students to explore career path possibilities, enhance self-discovery and make smarter choices. We cordially invite the parents & students of class XI to come and be a part of this session. It will be an enlightening session for both parents and students to help them choose from an array of career opportunities. Our teachers will be taking you through this interactive session.
