Booming population in the country has become a worrying topic. Over this, UNESCO recognized World Population Day was celebrated at Homerton Grammar School, 21/A, Faridabad on 7th July. During this, the Head Boy, Manish and the Head Girl, Khushboo of the school gave brief information on the World Population Day .They told the students that the human population growth has increased at a rate of about 2% for the last three years. More people mean more consumed resources, increased damage to the earth and more waste. Students of class 11th went to 21/C market and Mewla Maharjpur, Sector-46 with a street play. Through the play they ignited the awareness among men and women about the consequences of the rising population. Through the play they told them that it is ultimately up to us to solve the problems of rising population.
Huge crowd of men and women came out to watch the play. The efforts of the students were appreciated by the local governing body. It was a great success.
With the objective to give an overview of the school to the parents and to introduce them to the academic environment which their children will experience, Homerton Grammar School, Faridabad organised the ‘Annual Orientation Programme’ for the parents of the newly admitted students of classes Pre-Nursery, Nursery and KG. More than 150 parents attended the programme.
The programme began with a formal welcome by the Principal of the school Mrs. Archana Dogra, who also threw light on the various safety measures that the school has adopted within the school campus and school buses. Important points like discipline, attendance, examination and sports were also taken up with the parents. The Founder Principal of Homerton, Mr. Kuldip Singh, spoke about the history of the school and its activities. He also shared his vision and valuable insights on the philosophy of teaching, methodologies and practical knowledge that helps in the child’s overall development.
The parents were introduced to the Kindergarten teachers who displayed an array of educational aids and toys demonstrating the use of these toys in educating students. In the next segment parents were introduced to their respective school transport in-charge, the drivers, the conductors and the female staff in charge of each bus.
In the third segment of the programme, the parents were given a tour of the school to give them a better understanding of the environment in which their children would be learning. In the tour the Trinity Sports Hall and the fully-equipped kindergarten classes with its individual projector, air conditioner, CC cameras, play ground and educational toys were highlighted. The parents were delighted to see the kitchen –garden where their children would be growing their own seasonal fruits and vegetable to understand the process of growth. The school’s tie-up with the ‘Delhi Dynamos’ Soccer Club and their trainers fascinated them. The parents also appreciated the luscious green environment within the school campus. The teachers also gave a guided tour of all the laboratories-Maths, Chemistry, Physics, Biology and Computer where parents could look through all the equipment and tools used for teaching. Parents found the programme very informative and useful and they appreciated the initiative taken by the school. The Orientation Programme concluded with tea and refreshment for all.
The Kindergarten students of Homerton Grammar School, sector-21/A, Faridabad graduated on 18th March 2017 in the Annual Kindergarten Convocation Ceremony, ‘Udaan’, organized in their honour. The President, Mr. Kuldip Singh, Managing Director, Mr. Rajtheep Singh and Principal of the School, Mrs. Archana Dogra welcomed the guests who lit the ceremonial lamp and inaugurated the function. The Chief Guest, Dr. Deepti Bhardwaj, Guest of Honour, Mrs Madhu Bali and principals of renowned play schools graced the function along with other dignitaries. The programme commenced with Gehna Pahwa and Ridhima Nalwa reciting poems, followed by an enlightening drama on the concept ‘Clean and Green India’. A colourful and stylish fashion show by the kindergarten students was followed by a stunning dance by the tiny tots which enlivened the audience many folds.
The work of art and craft was highlighted and displayed innovatively by the students on the stage. There was an open interaction session with the parents of our scholars where they shared their views regarding the vital role of the school in shaping up the future of their wards. It was followed by the distribution of Proficiency Awards and Roll of Honour Awards. The programme ended with the Chief Guest appreciating the efforts of the students and congratulating school staff and management for their excellence. The President, Mr. Kuldip Singh blessed the students and Riddhi of Kindergarten thanked the audience for their esteemed presence.
